But while the spirits themselves – mostly bourbon, Tennessee whiskey and rye – have gained distinction worldwide, their places of origin remain somewhat mysterious. This has a lot to do with their terroirs, Kentucky and Tennessee – two southern states that are low on the destination list for many visiting Europeans. Three whiskies to try. Cragganmore Distillery is located in the beautiful Spey Valley in Speyside, and nestles on the banks of the legendary salmon river, the river Spey. No visit to Scotland is complete without a visit to this delightful little distillery. Cragganmore is home to one of the few distilleries that boast flat top stills which gives Cragganmore it’s unique character and makes it a must see for any visitor to Scotland. 3) Royal Lochnagar Distillery A one hour distillery tour and tasting. Three whiskies included. Royal Lochnagar distillery is situated on the south side of the River Dee close to Balmoral Castle. Age old traditions and craftmanship produce one of Scotland's most exclusive whiskies. A visit to Royal Lochnagar is a timeless experience.
Nashville to Jack Daniel's Distillery Bus Tour with Whiskey Tastings

You'll have about an hour and a half to peruse the small square of downtown Lynchburg. Don't forget to grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the square (at own expense).
